Training Programmes

In order to introduce the principles of task-based language learning into the daily practice of (language) teachers and vocational trainers, the CTM provides training and support for all levels of education: teachers, educational advisers and official policy makers. In this respect, the CTM is also involved in the formulation of attainment targets for all groups of language learners, ranging from children to adults.

Experience has shown that theoretical training fails to change the teaching methods of individual teachers. In its implementation programme, the CTM combines theoretical trainings with the introduction of language teaching materials and the coaching of teachers on the floor. In this way, task-based principles are also applied to the staff development of the teachers involved.

The experience that results from the Centre’s cooperation with more than 600 schools seems to indicate that an approach which combines theory and practice as described above, is the key to successful educational innovation and reform.
